2014/15 INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Motorcycling South Australia is excited to be calling for applications for the 2014/15 Elite Rider Program including the intensive Elite Rider Camp, to be held on 3 December- 5 December. This year MSA have also joined forces with MANT offering an additional 2 spots for NT Elite riders to apply.

The Elite Rider Program is aimed at SA’s & NT finest & most talented young riders to assist them in building towards a racing career. This program includes a fully paid off bike camp designed to increase the rider’s knowledge in areas of fitness, nutrition, media and marketing & with these tools help towards enhancing their performance profile within the sport.

The camp is open to 10 SA riders and 2 riders from the NT, from any disciplines, between the ages of 15 – under 20 years. The opportunity is a fantastic chance for riders to excel in the sport and take their riding to the next level.

What the elite rider camp provides you:

  • MSA/MANT intensive camp (Wednesday - Friday)
  • Fitness Training (strength, conditioning, pre & post event preparation & recovery)
  • Sports Psychology (Mental preparation)
  • Media & Sponsorship Training  
  • Dedicated Facebook page for all elite riders squad members also a dedicated page on both the MSA/ MANT websites (these sites will include graduate’s listing, results, press releases, and profiles)
  • MSA providing Rider/Team press releases to wider audience 

Camp Includes:

  • Accommodation & All meals
  • All Presentation & course material
  • Squad Apparel (Shirt & Training Singlet)
  • Ongoing support during 2014/15 Season

 

Selection Criteria for the riders are as follows:

  • Must be a MA/MSA/MANT National Licence rider
  • Must be between the ages of 15- Under 20 years of age
  • Have a long term goal in the sport
  • Show history of good results in competition
  • Be able to perform at a competent level of fitness training
  • Professional Attitude- Demonstrate the right attitude towards the sport, the camp, other riders and coaches
  • Commitment- Commitment to the sport and to  the camp for the whole time you are  present
  • Must supply a minimum of one referee recommendation (Coach, Sponsor, mentors)

 

If you are accepted into the program you will be supported throughout the 2014/15 calendar year with the above & more.

Name: Brodie Sheidow

Resides: Hahndorf

Age: 16

Discipline: Motocross

 

Brodie, 16, has been riding motorbikes since he was 5 years old, but only started competing in the last few years on his 85cc & 125cc.  Brodie has quickly shown that he is a front runner in his classes, recording podium places in his last few meetings including the final round of the 2013 Peter Stevens MX State Titles.

Brodie is hoping the Elite Rider Camp will help him develop more skills and knowledge and knows that this will help him for his career and into the future.

Name: Hudson Pitt

Resides: Norton Summit

Age: 18

Discipline: Road Race

 

Hudson is currently competing on the national level in the Supersport class, on a Suzuki GSXR600, of the Australian Superbike Series. Future goals include racing in Malaysia in 2014, in addition to again competing in the National series in Australia.  Hudson hopes to one day race in the Moto GP.

Name: Jett Anderson

Resides: Minlaton

Age: 17

Discipline: Motocross

 

Jett has had a flawless season in the 2013 Peter Stevens MX State Titles Series, riding brilliantly in the highly competitive Expert Lites class, taking out the number 1 plate.  In addition to his dominant performance in SA, Jett also competed in the MXD class at the Monster Energy MX Nationals, seeing him travel all over the country. Jett’s future goal is to continue to get better and stronger to mix it with the best both in SA and nationally.

Name: Jordan Heinrich

Resides: Coonalpyn

Age: 16

Disciplines: Enduro

Jordan has had a successful 2013 season taking out the Junior Lites class in the SA Off Road Championships.  He has shown outstanding results in SA, interstate and at national events. Jordan recorded a top 5 outright position at the Hattah Desert Race & a top 10 position at the Australian Off road series round held at Coonawarra in SA.  Jordan’s future goal is to challenge for a number 1 plate within senior ranks, and would like to work towards being a part of the AIS development camp held by MA.

Name: Luke Bunnik

Resides: Naracoorte

Age: 16

Disciplines: Enduro

Luke, 16, currently rides the SA Off Road Championship, finishing the 2013 Series in a strong 2nd outright in the Junior Lites Class. Luke's future goals are to be at the top of the senior competition, he would like to also compete in the Australian Off Road Series.

Name: Seigah Ward

Resides: Port Lincoln

Age: 17

Disciplines: Motocross

Seigah, 17, has been riding motobikes most of his life, he lives and breathes the sport, traveling long distances from his home town of Port Lincoln to compete at all the state title rounds and other major events. Seigah has been a state team representative 6 times and is the current SA number 1 in his class. Seigah will take the big step up into seniors in 2014 and will chase the nationals under 19's championship along with competing in the senior pro- lites in SA.

Name: Sofie Kraft

Resides: Tanunda

Age: 17

Disciplines: Moto Trials

Sofie, 17, is the only female elite rider in the squad for 2013.  Sofie has had a strong year achieving great results, recently becoming the SA Women’s Cup champion.  With the Australian title due to be held in the first weekend in October, Sofie is hoping to do well against Australia's best women Moto Trials riders. Sofie future goals are to wear an Australian Helmet and compete at the Trials des nations; she would also like to compete internationally at the Six day trial and Women’s World Championship.

Name: Todd Barry

Resides: Greenwith

Age: 18

Disciplines: Enduro

Todd, 18, has been competing on the SA Off Road Series since 2005; achieving great results across SA, Victoria and in the Australian Off Road Series. Through Todd’s junior years he achieved awesome results, winning the J1,J2,J3 & J4 class, winning the Australian Off Road Series J1 class in 2008 and the J2 in 2010. Todd had an outstanding result in the 2011 winning the J4 class in Victoria, taking out every round, which hadn’t been done for 14 years. Todd’s future goals are to become the number 1 SA enduro rider and top 10 nationally

Name: Tyler Lange

Resides: Loxton

Age: 17 Years

Disciplines: Motocross

 

Tyler, 17, has been riding motorbikes since he was 8 years old. Now competing full time in the MX state series and on the national MX series in MXD for the first time this year. Tyler has achieved some great results in the past few years, winning the SA junior 250f MX state title, finishing just outside the top 10 at the 2012 Junior MX nationals and achieving top 20 results in the super competitive MXD (U19) class in the MX Nationals. Tyler’s future goals in the sport are to finish in the top 5 in MXD at the MX Nationals, finish in the top 3 in the SA 250 Lites and pursue his ultimate career dream to one day ride in America.
