It is with great excitement that Motorcycling SA are able to announce that another local rider is joining the World and European Championship ‘circuses’ in Europe, and adding another discipline to the growing list that features South Australian riders doing what they do best!
This time it is local sidecar-cross star, Brian Anthony, who will be flying out to Switzerland this week to compete in the final two rounds of the 2018 FIM World Sidecarcross Championship at Roggenburg, Switzerland on the 25th/26th of August and Vesoul, France on the 1st/2nd of September. Added to that, Brian will also compete at the final round of the Swiss Sidecarcross Championship at La Broye, Switzerland on the 8th/9th of September.
He will be competing with the sidecar team Cuche for these rounds in Switzerland and France after injury struck their former passenger. Christophe Cuche currently sits 20th in the world championship after suffering some bad luck during the season. This is a huge opportunity for Brian to prove himself on the world stage and will be going after it with both hands and giving it 110%.
Says Brian, “I am also very thankful to Christophe for getting me on board and my family and friends for their support and encouragement. I have had some good luck in the last few seasons racing here in Australia with John Robinson, winning last year's Australian Championships and currently leading the Australian Sidecarcross Association series; I am hoping to take some of that luck with me to Europe.”
Motorcycling SA, the ASA, and the wider motorcycling community wish Brian the best of luck for his trip, and look forward to giving updates on how he is going.
