He started riding Observed Trials in 1958 then moved to Speedway until 1961. He has been the president of the Murray Bridge Speedway Club since 1995. He still enjoys being involved in Motorcycling and learning about ALL codes of the sport. Ivan is a current FIM qualified speedway official. She has many years of involvement in Speedway, Enduro, Road Trials & Motocross both on committees, ACU/MASA Board & Treasurer and also as part of a support team for family riders. She gained her Level 1 Coaching licence in 1996 but has since let it lapse. Lynn is the Chairperson of the newly formed MSA Womens Development Committee.

Speedway Referee/Track Steward since 1981. MX Steward accredited. Clerk of Course for Speedway/Track/MX. Speedway Sport Manager since 2005.
