Manual of Motorcyle Sport (GCR) - downloadable from MA Website

Motorcycle Sport provides non stop action for anyone over the age of 4, age of 5 for quads. Whether you are drawn to the adrenaline fuelled action of Motocross, Dirt Track or Speedway, the Speed of Road Racing, the skill of Moto Trials or the challenge of Enduro and Reliability Trials, Motorcycle Sport has something for you.

No matter if you are young or old, interested in racing or recreational riding, getting started in Motorcycle Sport is easy and opens the door to one of the most exciting activities you will experience.

To participate in events sanctioned by Motorcycling Australia (MA), whether they are Non Competitive or Competitive, you are required to hold a current MA licence. This licence gives you insurance cover at all sanctioned events that you are licensed to participate in.

There is a different process for obtaining a Competition Licence depending on if you are applying for a Junior or a Senior Competition Licence. The process for applying for a Mini or Recreational Licence however is the same for both juniors and seniors.

If you are interested in Motorcycle Sport but want to give it a try before committing to a yearly licence, many events allow for the sale of One Day Recreation Licences and One Event Competition Licences. There is a restriction for Juniors purchasing a one event competition licence as they need to hold a Junior Logbook.  A junior rider must complete a 'Kick Start' coaching session to gain a logbook. Please ask your club or MSA for more information.
