The 2019 Motorcycling SA calendar has now been officially released, with 2019 looking to be another exciting year for motorcycling in South Australia, with fantastic SA Championship series & stand-alone events locked in for most disciplines, as well as many Australian Championship events heading this way as well, plus a couple International events as well!
Here it is, the 2019 Motorcycling SA Calendar; Released 14.12.18
Let’s break it down and have a look at what is where in 2019!
The International events are once again tied into the great venue that is Gillman Speedway at Wingfield, with 2 back to back weekends to end March and start April.
First up will be the 2019 Oceania Speedway Sidecar Championship on March 29 & 30, followed a week later (April 5 & 6) by the FIM Speedway 1000cc Sidecar World Cup, which will once again see who will be crowned the number 1 speedway sidecar team in the world!
Australia will be all out to regain both crowns and remain the undisputed kings of speedway sidecars in the world, and a full house of cheering Aussie supporters will help with that goal as well!
Keep an eye on both, the Gillman website and Facebook page for all the details on these great events as they get closer!
Although technically not an International event, the other event in SA in 2019 to gain International interest and coverage will be the 2nd bi-annual running of the Levis MCC’s rejuvenated Sellicks Beach Historic Motorcycle Races.
This is an event that could lay claim, along with the 24 Hour Trial, to being SA’s most famous motorcycle event, and the weekend of February 16 & 17 will once again see Sellicks Beach come alive to the sounds of yesterday.
Keep an eye on both, the Levis MCC website and the Facebook pages for Levis & Sellicks for all the details on this great event as it gets closer!
The year will be book ended by Australian Championship events, with Heini Becker Park – or Gillman Speedway & the MRA Gillman Motocross Track playing a huge part – and by being the book ends to the year!
