2020 SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP DATES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED – AND NOW RELEASED!

June 5, 2020 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SAMX Championship, State Championship

2020 SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP DATES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED – AND NOW RELEASED!

Coming out of the COVID-19 lockdown the 2020 SA Motocross Championship dates and venues have now been confirmed, with it now being a 3 round Series for 2020, which in itself is a great thing to have only lost 1 round due to the pandemic!

The 2020 SA Motocross Championship will now be made up of the following rounds;

Round 1               July 25th & 26th                   Remark                 Riverland JMC

Round 2               August 8th & 9th                 Monarto              South Coast MXC

Round 3               August 29th & 30th             Gillman                 Motocross Riders Assoc.

As in previous years, juniors will race on Saturday, with seniors on Sunday, and classes and race formats to be released in the coming days, with round 1 entries to open before the end of June.

With the AJMX now proposed to be running in the school holidays in September, it made it almost impossible to stay with the original dates.

ELITE RIDER PROGRAMME POSTPONED UNTIL 2021

ELITE RIDER PROGRAMME POSTPONED UNTIL 2021

After many weeks of planning and trying to get the 2020 Elite Rider Programme to fit into the condensed calendar that motorcycle sport is faced with due to COVID-19 and re-start restrictions, the heart breaking decision to postpone the Programme until 2021 months has been made!

With riders from every discipline in the 2020 Squad, it has become just too difficult to make the Programme workable in what will be, a very full calendar for the rest of 2020.

This is also relevant as some of the venues that were planned to be used will/may not be available due to other commitments that will take preference.

At this stage the current Squad will be held over and Motorcycling SA will look to an April and July date in 2021 to run the Camp.

Motorcycling SA will also keep in touch with the 2020 Squad, and will seek to promote them and their results throughout the year, and over summer 2020/21 for the speedway guns – as they are an amazingly talented group and will very probably be chomping at the bit to do great things on track this year!

Motorcycling SA look forward to watching their journey into the 2021 Elite Rider Camp!

GAS GAS SIGN ON AS NAMING RIGHTS PARTNER FOR THE 2020 AUSTRALIAN TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

GAS GAS SIGN ON AS NAMING RIGHTS PARTNER FOR THE 2020 AUSTRALIAN TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

In exciting news for the 2020 Aussies, now being held at Mungeree, Bangor in the Southern Flinders Ranges of South Australia over the weekend of September 26 & 27, this year’s Championships will now be known as the “GAS GAS 2020 Australian Trial Championships”, as GAS GAS have signed on as the naming rights partner.

Grant Morris, the brand manager for the brand in WA, SA & NT, was excited to jump at the chance to make the Championships a red & black affair, “We are pleased to announce that GASGAS Australia will be the naming rights sponsor of the 2020 GASGAS Australian Trial Championships, which is set to be an outstanding event hosted by the Hogan Family and the South Australian trials community. As the premier event on the Australian trials calendar, it will also be an ideal time to showcase the exciting new GASGAS TXT RACING model range. We look forward to seeing all riders and supporters in the beautiful Flinders Ranges of South Australia.”

And from Christopher Paunola, president of the Keyneton MCC, “The Keyneton Motorcycle Club is proud to welcome GAS GAS on board as the naming rights partner for the 2020 Australian Trial Championships. The GAS GAS brand is certainly synonymous with trials all over the world and has been for many decades, so it’s quite fitting that they are our naming rights partner.”

Team Hogan (Team H) added, “We are very excited here at “Mungeree” to have GAS GAS as the major sponsor of the 2020 Australian Trial Championships. Our family has had a long association with GAS GAS over many years so it seems only fitting that they will play a big part in the anticipated success of this event. Huge thank you to Grant Morris, GAS GAS brand manager WA, SA, NT, KTM Group Aust & NZ.”

The Championships will now be the opening event of 2020 Trials Week South Australia, which will run from September 26th to October 4th and will also take in the 2020 South Australian Trial Championships (Oct 3 & 4) at Springton and a mid-week trial, National Trials Day on Thursday October 1st (Sept 27) at Tungkillo, with all proceeds from this event going to the 2021 Team Australia Trials des Nations Team.

For the first time at a South Australian hosted Championship, camping onsite will be welcomed, and, in light of all of the COVID-19 restrictions that have affected everyone, it will also be free, with toilets and showers onsite.

A full range of classes will be run at the Championships, and will include classes for all ages of riders and machines, 2 and 3 wheels, and men & women and boys & girls. Here is the list of classes that will be offered at the 2020 Australian Trial Championships.

TRIALS SA RELEASE THEIR REVISED CALENDAR FOR 2020!

May 20, 2020 Filed Under: News, Trials

2020 TRIALS SA REVISED CALENDAR;
Well, this is pretty cool – and all being well with Covid-19 restrictions and lifting them as time goes on – here is the revised calendar for the 2020 Trials SA season.
Biggest news is SA now hosting the Australian Championships due to COVID making it impossible for NSW to run them, with the Aussies heading to Mungeree for the first time and being hosted jointly by Team Hogan and the Keyneton MCC.
To fit most of the events in – and to give riders great value for money, there are a couple of double header weekends – or 2 day events – so it looks like the 2nd half of the year will be pretty good – all being well.

Biggest news for those planning to head to SA for the Australian Championships – and were thinking of staying for the week to ride the SA Championships – there is now this addition to the calendar; the AJS MTC is going to run their National Trials Day event on the Thursday of Trials Week, October 1st – with all proceeds going to go to Team Australia, the Australian Trials des Nations team for 2021!
Three events for the week now to plan around! It looks like it will (hopefully) be a great ending to what was, an unknown year a couple months ago!

2020 AUSTRALIAN TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – NOW COMING TO SA

May 14, 2020 Filed Under: News, Trials

2020 AUSTRALIAN TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

YES – THEY ARE GOING TO HAPPEN!

After working hard behind the scenes over the past few weeks, it can now be released that the 2020 Australian Trial Championships, which were originally scheduled to run at Pacific Park in NSW in August, but had to be postponed and then cancelled due to COVID-19 and venue availability, will now be held at Mungeree Homestead at Bangor in the Southern Flinders Ranges in South Australia over the weekend of September 26 & 27.

To be hosted by a joint crew headed by Team Hogan (the land owners) and the Keyneton MCC (6 time runners of the Championships), along with Trials SA, all are excited to be able to ensure the 2020 Championships will run!

More details will follow next week – on the re-launched of the 2020 Trials Week SA Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/trialsweeksa2020/?ref=bookmarks) – but what can be said is that all the classes will be offered, as well as on site camping – and – the weekend is either, at the start, or the middle weekend of the school holidays for everyone!

It is also the weekend before the planned SA Championships hear Springton in the Adelaide Hills, so head over, enjoy the Southern Flinders and the Clare Valleys, and then head to the SA Championships through the Barossa Valley – as always in SA, it should be a fantastic week – and a great way to celebrate post COVID-19 and see some of the best that SA has to offer!

AND RETURNING ONCE AGAIN – MINI TRIAL!

First run in 2017 at the Australian Championships in SA, Mini Trial will once again be offered as a support class on a shortened course of 10 sections, with 3 laps each day – for all riders aged 4 to under 9 years – on mini wheeled bikes!

2017 saw a number of riders ride their first Australian Championships, with some lined up to ride again in 2020 – but in competition classes, like Oliver and Harry Lancaster and Ashley Barwick, who topped the 7-U11 Girls Class last year in Tassie!

MINI TRIAL – UNCOVERING TOMORROW’S CHAMPIONS – TODAY!

2020 AUSTRALIAN TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES & SUPP REGS

The sponsorship package is almost ready to go and will be sent out next week (from May 18), and the plan is to open entries on July 1st and leave them open until August 31 to give everyone around the country as much time as possible to plan their trip, dependent on travel restrictions, etc!

MA LETTER TO CLUBS & GETTING BACK TO RIDING!

May 14, 2020 Filed Under: News

FROM MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA;

13th May 2020

Dear clubs,
It certainly has been a challenging time for everyone in the past 2 months. It is encouraging however that it appears Australia is doing a great job controlling COVID-19.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that recreational based riding can now resume at your club under the below principles. This model is slightly different to what you may be used to, but it is just a temporary measure to allow your members to get back on their bikes if your state government restrictions allow it to occur.
 For all disciplines other than those listed in point 3, clubs will be able to apply for a Ride Park Australia (RPA) permit as per RPA conditions and guidelines in the attached document.
 For activities held on Dirt Track, Speedway and Road courses you will also apply for an RPA permit however current MA conditions and operational guidelines around these disciplines still apply. For further information please contact your SCB.
 A valid MA license is not required.
 Public Liability insurance will be in place for the time period of the permit which can be applied for via your state office.
 Those members that do hold a valid annual MA license will have personal accident insurance cover as per the Motorcycling Australia policy.
 The cost per rider payable to MA or your SCB is $15.00 which will be passed directly onto the insurance company. Your sign on sheets will be emailed to your State office and Motorcycling Australia.
 All current COVID-19 health measures and restrictions that are valid must be adhered to within your RPA event. Any breaches of these restrictions will be at the risk solely of the club.
 This is a temporary measure and will be evaluated once further restrictions are lifted.
If you have any queries, please contact your state office. Please note you would have also received a statement regarding annual licenses from Motorcycling Australia in the past day. This is the most current update on the status of annual licenses.

& FROM MOTORCYCLING SA

The events calendar is now being finalised for a return to competition in July (all being well), so the MSA Calendar on this website will begin to be updated in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!
