Motorcycle sport is one of the most exciting things you’ll ever be involved with. There are a few different ways to get started, depending on your age and chosen discipline.
Kids aged 4-U6
Can only participate in Recreational activities.
Recreational activities – allows you to participate in Non-Competitive events. i.e. Ride Park Days, Track Days, Trail Rides, Coaching and Demo classes at competitive events.
How do I get involved?
Step 1: Check out your local club, locate your local club
Step 2: Purchase a ‘Recreational’ licence through Ridernet

‘Juniors’ – those aged 6- to under 16
Can participate in either Recreational OR Competition Activities.
Recreational activities – Ride Park Days, Track Days, Trail Rides and Coaching.
Competitive activities – National, State, Regional, Open, Interclub and Club events.
How do I get involved in Recreational Riding?
Step 1: Check out your local club, locate your local club
Step 2: Purchase a ‘Recreational’ licence through Ridernet
Step 3: Check out the Calendar or with your club for upcoming recreational activities and coaching opportunities!
How do I get involved in Competition Riding?
Step 1: Locate your local club and organise to attend a Kick Start Day.
Step 2: Attend the Kick Start Day or Coaching Day and complete 5 hours of coaching. The Coach will complete Assessment 1 on pages 24-25, you will complete Assessment 2 which can be found on pages 26-28 of the Kick Start Booklet. Download a Kick Start Book
Step 3: Join your local club
Step 4:Purchase a ‘Junior National’ or ‘Junior Restricted’ licence through Ridernet you will be required to supply proof of age and competency. More information on the type of licence you require can be found from Motorcycling Australia
Step 5: Upload pages 24-28 of your Kickstart book to the endorsement tab on your profile on Ridernet.

How do I get involved in Competition Riding?
Step 1: Join a club, locate your local club
Step 2: Purchase a ‘Senior National’ or ‘Senior Restricted’ licence through Ridernet. During this process, you will be required to provide proof of practical, complete the senior theory test and payment and supply your proof of ID as well.
