Motorcycling South Australia are looking for riders to represent the State at the 2025 KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championship, being held from the September 29 to October 3, 2025 at Gillman.

From the registrations received, a selection panel made up of a highly experienced motocross key official, a motocross coach and an MSA representative will carefully select the riders that will represent South Australia at this event, announcing the team on Friday 22 August. All applicants will be contacted before the announcement to provide an update on the status of their application. Riders selected for the state team will be required to provide sizing for team apparel.

At the event, the team manager will select a final team of eight riders to compete for the State Team Challenge. Selection will be based primarily on qualifying results (in accordance with the Manual of Motorcycle Sport Regulations (MoMS)).

Sunday, May 4 – Seniors

Pro MX1

Honda Red Rider Privateer Program–supported rider Siegah Ward charged hard in Moto 1 after a mid-pack start, mounting a last-lap challenge to snatch the win from archrival Levi McManus. It was a gutsy performance that set the tone for an impressive clean sweep — 1/1/1 for a perfect 75 points.

Bridgeland Motorcycles’ “Leapin’” Levi McManus launched out of the gates with blistering speed in all three motos, finishing 2/2/2 for 64 points and second overall.

AORC Yamaha star — and current Robe “Sand Master” — Cooper Sheidow powered his way to third overall with consistent results of 3/2/3 (62 points).

Riley Pitman impressed with 8/5/5 finishes, securing fourth overall (45 points) on a countback over Jordan Doctor, who went 5/7/6 (also 45 points).

Pro MX2

GO24, Penrite, Team Green Kawasaki rider Cooper Rowe carved up a storm and was phenomenal in the whoops, setting a formidable pace throughout the day to secure an overall sweep with 1/1/1 (75 points).

His teammate, Englishman Alfie Jones, had some intense duels with Coop and the rest of the top five, finishing strong in second overall on a countback with 3/4/2 (60 points).

Yamaha Pitmans–supported “Wild” Wil Carpenter rose to the challenge and claimed third overall with 4/2/3 (60 points), just edged out of second place on countback.

Campbell Cadd landed fourth overall with 6/8/4 (46 points), narrowly ahead of Clayton Bogucki — who finished 5/5/7 (46 points) — also on countback.

MX3 U14-U18

GO24, Penrite, Team Green Kawasaki pilot Cooper Rowe unleashed a full-blown “Rowe Show” on the snarling pack, combining blistering speed and stamina to record a dominant 1/1/1 for a perfect 75-point haul.

“Wild” Wil Carpenter rebounded from a couple of crashes to storm back into third on the final lap of moto one, setting up a strong second overall finish with 3/2/2 (64 points).

“The Jack Attack” Jackson Rossi secured third overall with 4/4/3 (56 points), winning the countback over Campbell Cadd, who finished with 2/5/4 (56 points).

GO24, Team Green Kawasaki, Penrite’s Kye Little rounded out the top five with 6/6/5 (46 points).

Women’s All-Powers

“Southeast Flyer” Emily Lambert delivered a superb performance on her home track, dominating the day with a clean sweep of 1-1-1 finishes (75 points). Jessica Bennett secured second place with a consistent ride aboard her Coast Powersports YZ250F, finishing 2-2-2 (66 points), while Danielle Churchett rounded out the podium with 4-3-3 results (58 points). Carla Burns finished fourth with 3-4-5 (54 points), and Maddi Bahnisch completed the top five with 6-7-4 (47 points).

MX1 Expert

Stone Group Engineering’s Archer Colwill rode the wheels off his KTM, fiercely competing against the Pro MX1 riders and sweeping the Expert class with 1-1-1 finishes (75 points) for his second consecutive round win. Cody Loffler raced hard and gave 110%, securing second overall with 2-2-2 (66 points). Otto Spurling took third with 3-3-3 (60 points), Adam Ryan finished fourth with 4-4-4 (54 points), and Kane Matthews rounded out the top five with 5-5-5 (48 points). 

MX2 Expert 

“Jumpin” Jake Henderson raced exceptionally well on his two-stroke, battling with Jye Smith in motos two and three to claim the overall win with 1-2-2 finishes (69 points). Jye Smith will be ruing a fall in moto one, which led to a fourth-place finish, but he bounced back with two solid wins to secure second overall with 4-1-1 (68 points). Harry Lashford finished third with 5-3-3 (56 points) on a countback over Harry Guy, who placed fourth with 2-5-4 (56 points). Tom Willis rounded out the top five with 3-4-5 (54 points).

Junior Lites (150cc Stroke/250cc 4 Stroke 13-U16 Years)

GO24/Kawasaki Australia/Penrite rider “Killer” Kye Little made the most of his long levers in the sand, getting the better of Dilsy late in moto one and never looking back, finishing 1-1-1 (75 points). Banks Race Development/Daily Moto shredder Dylan Gromball rode strongly to claim second aboard the Stark Electric, with consistent 2-2-2 finishes (66 points), proving the EV could handle the heavy conditions. “The West Coast Warrior” Caleb Churchett dug deep in the sand, rim-riding his way to third overall with 3-3-3 (60 points), followed by Harrison “Holeshot” Finch in fourth with 5-4-4 (52 points), and Max Oakley rounding out the top five with 4-5-5 (50 points).

Clubman All Powers

The “Bordertown Bullet”, Archer Colwill, blasted around the circuit like a man possessed, clinching the overall win with 2-1-1 finishes (72 points). Round one winner Harry McDonald started strong but was a little banged up later in the day, finishing second overall with 1-2-2 (69 points). “Turbo” Tyson Brooks rounded out the top three with 3-3-4 (58 points). “Jumpin” Jamie Averay placed fourth with 11-4-3 (48 points), followed by Baillie Rochow in fifth with 5-5-6 (47 points).

Vets 50+ Years

“Dazzling” Darren Averay continued his strong performance from Round One, securing another maximum point score of 75 points. Glynn “Humpy” Humphreys followed with 2-2-2 finishes (66 points), while Dale Mosey earned 58 points. Matt Powell and Brad Richards rounded out the top positions.

Vets 40-49 Years

Former enduro rider and all-around nice guy Ant Diener made a strong cameo performance, claiming the overall win and going undefeated in his class with 75 points. Craig Hepburn finished second with 2-2-2 results (66 points), while Duane Hitch took third with 3-3-3 (60 points).

Saturday, May 3 – Juniors

100-125 Stroke 13-U17

“Dynamite” Dylan Gromball, riding for Banks Race Development, was smooth and precise, recording 3-1-1 finishes for a very impressive overall victory with 70 points. AORC Junior Champion “Lightning” Levi Rossi showed tremendous speed and consistency, finishing 2-2-2 for second overall with 66 points. Campbell Cadd recovered from a stack in moto one to finish with 9-3-3 (52 points), securing third overall, just ahead of Tom Bowering with 5-4-4 (52 points) and “Mad” Max Oakley in fifth with 6-5-5 (47 points).

Girls 150 2 Stroke/250cc 4 Stroke 13-U16 Years

Victorian racer Tahlia Feltham adapted exceptionally well to the conditions, executing a clean sweep with 1-1-1 finishes (75 points). Charlize Waldhuter finished second overall with 2-2-2 (66 points), followed by Airlie Colwill in third with 3-3-3 (60 points).

85cc 2 Stroke/150 4 Stroke STD/BW 12-U16 Years

Peter Stevens Motorcycles-supported Declan Smart carved up a storm, winning his first overall in the class with a stunning display of sand racing, finishing 1-1-2 (72 points). Levi Rossi, red hot after a recent trip to the United States, raced his Kessner KTM to an impressive moto 3 victory, tackling the track at its gnarliest to finish 3-3-1 overall (65 points). Banks Development racer “Rapid” Riley Mullen was ripping until he had a couple of get-offs in moto 3, battling back to complete 2-2-4 results (62 points), securing another podium. His teammate Ollie Paech finished fourth with 5-4-3 (54 points), and Portland, Vic shredder Ryder Tricky took fifth with 6-5-5 (47 points).

Girls 85cc 2 Stroke/150cc 4 Stroke 11-U15

Mount Gambier shredder Lacey Thompson hit her marks superbly, thriving in the sand and winning each moto comfortably with a perfect 75 points. April Chapman rode consistently for 2-2-2 finishes (66 points), securing second overall, followed by Matilda Ryan in third with 3-3-3 (60 points). Paige Kitchen finished fourth with 4-4-4 (54 points), and Laycie Sargeant rounded out the top five with 5-5-5 (48 points).

85 Stroke/150 4 Stroke SW 9-U12

Sandgroper “Nitro” Nate Forwood proved to be a Junior sand master, dominating the field with a clean sweep, finishing 1-1-1 (75 points). “Blonde Bomber” Bodhi Austin had a great day, flowing nicely to finish 4-2-2 for second overall. “BT” Bailey Thompson showcased his sand prowess with 2-4-3 results, taking third, closely followed by “Boostin” Brax Chittleborough in fourth with 3-3-4 (58 points). Victorian Ryder Plumb rounded out the top five with 6-6-7 (44 points).

65cc 10-U12 Years

“Blonde Bomber” Bodhi Austin bounced back to his best, flowing like a boss and taking the overall win with a brilliant display of 1-1-1 finishes (75 points). “Boostin” Brax Chittleborough raced hard to secure second with 2-2-4 (62 points), followed by “Barnstorming” Bailey Thompson in third with 3-5-2 (58 points), just edging out “Lethal” Lachlan Murdoch in fourth with 4-3-3 (58 points) and Sonny Jarvis in fifth with 5-4-5 (50 points).

65cc 7-9 Years

Mandurah City KTM rider “Nitro” Nate Forwood was flying all day, scoring a perfect 75 points (1-1-1). Victorian Parker Matthews secured second with consistent 3-3-3 scores (60 points). Oliver Thredgold landed on the podium once again with solid results of 4-9-2 (52 points), closely followed by Hudson Chadbourne in fourth with 6-4-4 (51 points), and Finn Jarvis rounding out the top five, also with 51 points (5-5-5).

50cc Auto 7-U9 Years

Oliver Thredgold charged hard all day to secure the overall win with 1-1-2 finishes (72 points), despite a couple of falls along the way. Dubbo N.S.W. shredder “Flyin” Finn Jarvis dialed in the track nicely, taking a moto off Oli and ultimately finishing second overall with 2-2-1 (69 points). Parker Matthews finished third with 4-4-3 (56 points), followed closely by Kade Chittleborough in fourth with 3-3-6 (55 points), and “Chaddy Junior” Hudson Chadbourne completing the top five with 5-5-4 (50 points).
