EAGLES TRAILERS CARAVANS AND CAMPERS 2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS – ROUND 5 PRESS RELEASE

EAGLES TRAILERS CARAVANS AND CAMPERS 2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS – ROUND 5 PRESS RELEASE

Round 5 of the Eagles Trailers Caravans and Campers 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstore, has had to be relocated to Gillman, this weekend 28th and 29th August.

The Riverland Junior Motorcycle Club, with the best interest of SA motocross in mind, threw the sport’s Championship a lifeline last week for which the sport was sincerely grateful. Unfortunately, on further review of the track and a detailed and very open discussion, the decision was made that the flowing fresh new layout that the red loam of Renmark provides needs more time to settle in for the safety and welfare of our riders.

“The RJMCC continues to be proactive with track changes and hosting cross discipline events year in year out and I would like to thank the RJMCC and their dedicated volunteers for their efforts in 2021.”  said SA Motocross Sports Manager, Clint Gow-Smith.

“We categorically understand this is frustrating and disappointing for many, however the Series and sport is ultimately run by a handful of volunteers, absolutely persevering through these challenges.

Their efforts ensure that we will get a final round so that we can proudly crown our 2021 State Champions, farewell our junior riders into senior ranks, thank all our competitors, appreciate our officials and volunteers and of course thank our loyal and generous series sponsors.” Gow-Smith said.

“The SA Motocross Sports Manager and Panel fully accept the logistical frustrations but sincerely ask everyone to get behind next weekend and show your support for motocross in SA!”

“Despite these challenges the ‘Motocross Gods’ have led us here with round 5 climaxing at the  Motocross Riders Association track at Gillman. We have to go back to Anzac Day weekend, Round 1 of the Eagles Trailers Campers and Caravans 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstore, to remind ourselves just how awesome this track is.”

The unfortunate postponement of Pro MX and the recent weather has starved the Motocross Riders Association of competition events in 2021.” he added.

“It’s been a tough month since Round 4 and the work that’s gone in to keeping  round 5 alive has been taxing on the most dedicated group of volunteers I have worked with. The support has been overwhelming and we just need to show our appreciation to MRA for providing us a venue and a fully prepped track for the last round at a minute’s notice.” commented Gow-Smith

“There is so much to look forward to with round 5 and I am just really looking forward to crowning our hardworking, dedicated champions and finishing off our series the same way we started”

2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN HISTORIC SCRAMBLE CHAMPIONSHIPS – UNFORTUNATELY CANCELLED!

2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN HISTORIC SCRAMBLE CHAMPIONSHIPS – UNFORTUNATELY CANCELLED!

Unfortunately, the Levis MCC has made the decision to cancel the 2021 S.A. Historic Scramble Championships, that was to be run at ACUSA Park on Sunday, September 19.

The decision was not made lightly, and the Club apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Levis MCC are hoping to run the 2022 S.A. Historic Scramble Championships early next year with a view to accommodating both local and interstate riders hopefully in a more COVID-19 friendly environment that allows for less travel and physical distancing restrictions.

THE GRAND FINALE’ OF THE EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS 2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS, presented by AMX SUPERSTORES – NOW HEADING TO RENMARK!

THE GRAND FINALE’ OF THE EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS 2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS, presented by AMX SUPERSTORES – NOW HEADING TO RENMARK!

Due to some unforeseen complications with the 5th & final round of the Eagle Trailers, Campers & Caravans 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstores, this event will now be held at the Riverland Junior Motorcycle Club’s venue, across the same planned weekend of August 28 & 29.

“This late change of venue offers our riders 5 rounds as committed.” said Clint Gow-Smith, the SA Motocross Sports Manager

“We have taken every measure to communicate this at our earliest convenience. We fully understand that this unforeseen change in venue will effect travellers and necessary changes to accommodation and work commitments will need to be made. We appreciate the impact of these changes have on our volunteers, riders and support people.” Gow-Smith said.

“The commitment from the Riverland JMCC to take this event on is testament to the clubs commitment to the sport and the professional manner. The 2021 Eagles Trailers, Campers & Caravans South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstores, at Renmark is set up perfectly for a brilliant final round.

I will take this opportunity to again thank the all our host clubs, our dedicated officials, the support from the MSA Board, the SAMX Panel and our series sponsors for simply making this all possible throughout another challenging but progressive season.” he said.

So, with this in mind, this weekend sees;

This weekend, tomorrow in fact, sees the 7 round South Australian Reliability Trials Championship kick head into the second half of the season with the Levis MCC’s Gil Harris Reliability Trial, taking place out near Mallala, with the first bike due to leave at 12.01pm, for a 2 lap, 6 hour-ish journey around the region!

Round 5 sees and excellent 115 entries received, which coming after the 24 Hour Trial is great numbers, with the 24 sidecar entries leading the field away. And it’s a high quality field as the battle for Series Champion hots up, led by Robbie 2 Day winner, Zak Tremaine, Damien Jenke and the evergreen, Rowan Pumpa in the outright solo battle to join the Gil Harris honour roll!

The sidecars are also high quality, with ‘hostilities’ from the 24 Hour Trial, between Max & Sam Hutchesson, Mark Launer & Tyson Rohrlach, and Hector Evans & Shaun Buckley sure to continue!

The event is being fully catered by an amazing team from the Mallala Lions Club, who always do an awesome feed for all, so get behind it and grab some great food for a great cause!

Live timing will also be available at this event, head to www.sartchampionship.com, and also grab an event program at Main Control to get the riders list and directions to the spectator areas!

And here is the official welcome from Phil Altschwager, the president of the Levis Motorcycle Club;

Hi All

I would like to welcome you all to this year’s Gil Harris Reliability Trial, which is again starting at Alex and Angela O`Loans property.  We are very grateful and extend our sincere thanks to them for their support and help.  We would also like to thank the landowners who make their properties available to us.  I say it every year but without them, none of this would happen.  I would like to remind everyone to be mindful of their crops (which are not just some green stuff growing in a field) but their livelihood, so stay on the marked course.  Also, be careful on the roads as it is also the local Mallala Council who support us and we thank them also.

Well my friends, this year has seen a considerable improvement on last year (which isn`t that hard as last year basically it didn`t happen) except for a couple of trail rides.  As we have seen over the last couple of weeks, it can turn very quickly, so can I ask you all to adhere to the COVID plan we have in place.  This will be reinforced at all stages of today’s event.  Please follow all the COVID Marshals’ instructions so we can have a great ride in these trying times.

This year has a couple of new sections and unfortunately this has come at the expense of the river section (which I know will not worry some of you if it is a wet one).

If you have family members or friends watching you ride in the competitive sections please advise them not to enter those sections and to watch from the roadside only. This is important not only from a COVID-19 perspective, but also for their safety.

I will not be riding today and wish it was livestreamed so I could watch you all slide around yelling and screaming or maybe that was just me!

Thanks also to Lenny Burman, Steve Martin and Dave Hardaker who have done an awesome job as usual in getting this event marked and a shout out to Mark and Jonathon Zussino and Jon and Cameron Caruso for their help also.

As we all know, none of these events happen without a whole group of volunteers helping and you will see them all round the course from a host of local clubs who also chip in with their invaluable assistance – from sweep riders to control keepers as well as scrutineering, officials, sign-on and timekeeping just to name a few.

A special mention of thanks to the two ladies who make up a big part of the event for our Club, Linda Harris and Carole Tune.

The Mallala Lions Club will be coming along to feed us.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable and safe ride! I would like to say I will see you all during this event, but I am still in isolation for another couple of weeks.

Phil Altschwager

President Levis MCC

NEVER SHUDDER AT THE CHANCE TO WIN A MUDDER – SAMX ROUND 4

NEVER SHUDDER AT THE CHANCE TO WIN A MUDDER – SAMX ROUND 4

HEADLINING THE WEEKEND’S ACTION!

KEITH & DISTRICTS MCC                               2021 SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS – ROUND 4

Eagle Trailers Campers & Caravans 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX SUPERSTORES

NEVER SHUDDER AT THE CHANCE TO WIN A MUDDER!

Three rounds down on 3 varying sandy, loam tracks in rounds 1 & 2 and then the shell grit in round 3, well, the round 4 forecast will definitely be washing our mouths out!

The 2021 Eagles Trailers, Campers & Caravans South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstores, at Andy Caldecott Park, Keith, is set up perfectly. For many it’s dry July off the track, but with our winter sport winding its way through the winter months, the forecasted rainfall in the region guarantees there be nothing dry about July on track and presents us with rare gutsy and gritty motocross conditions where our championships may take serious twists and turns in the results!

The Keith & Districts track, as well as the conditions will provide a different set of skills to shine through as the tracks layout and material will provide a very even playing field for all competitors!

The KDMCC has great community support with local council fully behind the club and, don’t worry, these cats are no strangers to hosting a State Championship round. The KDMCC are the proud recipients of the 2018 & 2019 MSA Club of the Year for their efforts and successful running of events and developing motocross in their region.

The track crew know the material and are excited as ever for the weekend, and the track has drainage which reduces water pooling on the track proper and to which I’m told it’s currently nicely sealed up. The dedication and level of professionalism further illustrated with the news that the track crew have even covered the starting area behind the gates as if they were cricket pitches.

These guys LOVE HOSTING THIS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES, and without these clubs volunteering in all types of weather for WEEKS so we can have fun for TWO DAYS, none of it would be possible at all !!

With nice hot showers at the track and fantastic new canteen and viewing area amongst a nice warm wood fire the stage is set!

Get excited and let’s appreciate the fact we have a FULL 5 round Championship Series ACROSS the state, especially with COVID sneaking around, and get to Keith THIS WEEKEND!
