2021 SIDECAR-CROSS & QUAD SERIES HEADS TO KEITH FOR A ‘2 DAYER!’

July 29, 2021 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SA Women in Motorcycling, SAMX Championship

2021 SIDECAR-CROSS & QUAD SERIES HEADS TO KEITH FOR A ‘2 DAYER!’

Calling all sidecar riders and passengers – time to drag the trust old steed out of the shed and punt it around a track once again!

The Australian Sidecar-cross Association, along with ATV SA are looking to get as many sidecars, and Quads, out on the track at Keith in a few weeks’ time for the next event in their 2021 Series.

There are classes for ALL ages, bikes and riders, and Keith is also a great sidecar track – for all bikes – both junior and senior, as well as the older bikes that no longer like the big jumps!

The next event is also a two day event, and at Andy Caldecott Park at Keith on August 21st and 22nd. The ASA are taking entries via the following link https://shorturl.at/ekxDH

Classes WILL also include;
Junior 50cc Solo demo,
Open Senior Solo,
Non-comp Senior Sidecar

As well as all of the usual Quad and Competition Sidecar classes – check out the sup regs on the sup regs page on this website for all the details!

The Keith Hotel are sponsoring the event, so if you’re looking for accommodation please get in touch with them. The ASA will be having dinner here on Saturday evening, you can indicate on your entry form the number of people who will be attending with you.

PLUS:
Round 5 is planned for September 12th at Port Pirie Motocross Club. Entries will open soon – stay tuned – another great sidecar track!

AND ALSO PLUS:
The 2021 Murray Williams Sidecar Cup and Wayne Kearvell Sidecar Passenger Trophy, honouring a couple of great champions, and great blokes, is being run this year at Murray Bridge on October 17th. Details for this event, plus the poster are being organised now, so it will hopefully be available soon.

NEVER SHUDDER AT THE CHANCE TO WIN A MUDDER – SAMX ROUND 4

HEADLINING THE WEEKEND’S ACTION!

KEITH & DISTRICTS MCC                               2021 SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS – ROUND 4

Eagle Trailers Campers & Caravans 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX SUPERSTORES

NEVER SHUDDER AT THE CHANCE TO WIN A MUDDER!

Three rounds down on 3 varying sandy, loam tracks in rounds 1 & 2 and then the shell grit in round 3, well, the round 4 forecast will definitely be washing our mouths out!

The 2021 Eagles Trailers, Campers & Caravans South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstores, at Andy Caldecott Park, Keith, is set up perfectly. For many it’s dry July off the track, but with our winter sport winding its way through the winter months, the forecasted rainfall in the region guarantees there be nothing dry about July on track and presents us with rare gutsy and gritty motocross conditions where our championships may take serious twists and turns in the results!

The Keith & Districts track, as well as the conditions will provide a different set of skills to shine through as the tracks layout and material will provide a very even playing field for all competitors!

The KDMCC has great community support with local council fully behind the club and, don’t worry, these cats are no strangers to hosting a State Championship round. The KDMCC are the proud recipients of the 2018 & 2019 MSA Club of the Year for their efforts and successful running of events and developing motocross in their region.

The track crew know the material and are excited as ever for the weekend, and the track has drainage which reduces water pooling on the track proper and to which I’m told it’s currently nicely sealed up. The dedication and level of professionalism further illustrated with the news that the track crew have even covered the starting area behind the gates as if they were cricket pitches.

These guys LOVE HOSTING THIS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES, and without these clubs volunteering in all types of weather for WEEKS so we can have fun for TWO DAYS, none of it would be possible at all !!

With nice hot showers at the track and fantastic new canteen and viewing area amongst a nice warm wood fire the stage is set!

Get excited and let’s appreciate the fact we have a FULL 5 round Championship Series ACROSS the state, especially with COVID sneaking around, and get to Keith THIS WEEKEND!

THE 2ND WEEKEND IN JULY – MUST BE TIME FOR SA’s ICONIC ‘HARDI’ 24 HOUR TRIAL!

The 2nd weekend in July is here – and with it comes the running of South Australia’s most iconic motorcycle event, the 88th running of the 24 Hour Trial, which will be celebrating its 97th Anniversary with great naming rights sponsorship from Hardi!

HEADLINING THE WEEKEND’S ACTION!

24 HOUR TRIAL COMMITTEE                       HARDI 2021 24 HOUR TRIAL                         RELIABILITY

Saturday & Sunday, 10th & 11th of July! This year the event is returning to the traditional home at the Kapunda Harness Racing Club Complex, Kapunda.

First run in 1924, this year’s trial starts with the first machine leaving from the Kapunda Harness Racing Club Complex on Hancock Road at 11:00am on the 10th of July, and if all went well the first machine will return again at 11:00am on the 11th of July.

The weather will dictate a lot of the difficulties of the course, but whether wet or dry, it will be hard on both bike and rider (and passenger), and there is usually an attrition rate of at least 50%. The trial could not be run without massive support from many clubs, organisations and individuals, and the 24 Hour Trial Organising Committee thank them for their dedication to this great event.

Over 135 riders, as well as nearly 30 passengers will tackle 4 laps of the 200k course this weekend, with the Sidecars leading the way, with 2019 and reigning winners, Max & Sam Hutchesson leading the field away. Leading the Expert Solo field away will also be the 2019 & reigning Champion, Sean Throup, keeping in mind the event is returning after a year off in 2020 due to COVID-19.

The Hardi 24 Hour Trial is also round 4 of the 2021 South Australian Reliability Championships, so riders will be keen to ensure they cross the line on Sunday, to pick up valuable Championship points.

For all the details regarding this event, catering, spectator sections and heaps more, including the draw for the weekend, head to http://www.24hrtrial.com/ or check out their social media pages, Facebook & Instagram.

As well as the rugged men & women who ride the event, this has been and always will be as much a fun weekend for the spectators, as they watch their favourites from some of the best, most beautiful scenery in South Australia.

The 24 Hour Trial Organising Committee do ask spectators and all who attend to respect the land owner’s property, and to take your rubbish away with you please, to not camp on private property without permission and also to drive or ride carefully on the roads and not in any properties.

Also keep in mind that this event will run under all current COVID-19 requirements, so please QR Code when asked, adhere to all physical distancing requirements, and, if feeling unwell, please stay at home! Thank you!

HEAD WEST YOUNG RIDERS, HEAD WEST! ROUND 3, EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS HEADS ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND!

June 17, 2021 Filed Under: Dirt Track, Motocross, News, SA Women in Motorcycling, SAMX Championship, State Championship, Trials

HEAD WEST YOUNG RIDERS, HEAD WEST!

ROUND 3, EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS HEADS ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND!

Round 3 of the Eagle Trailers, Campers & Caravans 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships, along with round 2 of TROY Series SA 2021 for Trial headline this coming weekend, with the SAMX Championships heading to the ‘Wild West’ of Ceduna, hosted by the West Coast MCC and TROY being run in the Barossa at Vine Vale, with the 48th running of the Keyneton MCC’s Mountain Man Trial.

Here is the rundown on this weekend’s action – events, ride days and all what’s happening!

EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS 2021 SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS, presented by AMX SUPERSTORES;

 The trip west means round 3 of 5 of the 2021 Championship, which is also presented by AMX Superstores, so this also means the season is half way to crowning the 2021 South Australian Champions.

With the hot action that has been seen at rounds 1 & 2, those who are travelling and fully supporting the 2021 Championship are putting themselves in a strong position for a great 2021 result, as if the first 2 rounds have proven anything, it’s that you definitely need to be in it to win it!

So, a huge thanks to all who are supporting, not only the Championship, but also SA’s most remote country Club and their members – it’s your support that will continue to see the Championship, and motocross, thrive into the future here in SA, so let’s continue to grow support behind these clubs and the Championship.

SA Motocross looks forward to seeing you all there!

And the action will be hot on the track, as has been stated, this is the half way point of the Championship, so those who have been locked in a battle for points will be all out this weekend to try and get a gap as they head to Keith for round 4, and with ALL classes still very much up for grabs, there won’t be a single race without handle bars being banged!

The sea views from the Ceduna track will definitely be taking a back seat when the gates drop!

And from the West Coast Club, who are going all out to make every visitor feel welcome!

“We have convinced Jon to put on another roast night on the Saturday night 19th June of our State Championship round (hopefully the weather is kinder this year). So we would love for you to join us in the shed around the fire for a yarn, a coldy and have an awesome feed for $10.00 per plate.

For catering purposes – please let us know and we’ll make sure you don’t miss out!

AND: as well as Erikah doing face painting from 11.00am-1.00pm Saturday, we will have Mel at the track selling showbags for her great cause, and below is a little bit about Mel’s cause

“Selling showbags as part of my fundraising as I’m shaving all my hair off to a number 1 or 2 and donating hair for wigs for sick kids and adults. Fundraising monies will be equally split between RFDS, MS Foundation, Ceduna Hospital Auxiliary and Children’s Cancer Institute. Thanks for your support Mel!””

So get around the Club and their friends and supporters – and make your trip one to really remember!

TROY Series SA 2021 round 2, THE 48TH MOUNTAIN MAN TRIAL

TROY Series SA 2021 kicks back into gear on Sunday with the 48th running of the Keyneton MCC’s Mountain Man Trial at Vine Vale in the Barossa Valley, just off the Angaston-Tanunda road, action kicks off around 9.30am and entry for spectators is FREE!

50 riders from as young as 6 years of age, right through to veterans in their 60’s will be in action, including Australian representatives and Australian Champions like Connor Hogan, Hayden Eardley and Haydon Barwick, and 2019, and reigning, MSA Rising Star, Lillie Yiatrou!

As well as a full day’s action the Keyneton MCC will have catering this coming Sunday, with a massive thanks to the ‘Masters of Wine’ and ‘Just Us Girls’ (JUGS) Mighty River Run teams! They are raising money for Novita, so get around them and their great cause, with Bacon & Egg sangas for breaky and burgers for lunch – among heaps more!

A great day for the whole family to wander among the gum trees and get up and close to some fantastic trials action, and supporting a great cause!

Just over 95 riders will tackle some of SA Reliability Trials most iconic sections this weekend, with Springhut Creek once again likely to be the highlight for most riders, and especially after missing the event in 2019, which had to be cancelled due to COVID-19! Leading the field out onto the course will be the sidecars, with the team of Hector Evans & Shaun Buckley first bike away!

The first bike will start at 1.01pm on Saturday and 9.01am on Sunday, with riders doing 2 laps each day of a course that should take them about 2 hours & 20 minutes!

To catch all the action – head to the Robertstown Oval and grab an egg & bacon sanga, a coffee and a programme, which will tell you all you need to know in regards to who is riding and where the best spots to catch the action are (spectator paddocks) – and then head back to the Oval to welcome home the riders at the end of their journey each day – and grab a lamb roll from the awesome catering the Robertstown community will have on site!

ENTRY TO ALL POINTS OF THIS EVENT IS FREE TO ALL SPECTATORS;

BUT REMEMBER TO QR CODE WHEN YOU ARRIVE – JUST TO BE SURE!!

The 2 main reasons riders head to ‘Robbie’ each and every year to ride the Velo’ MCC’s 2-Day Classic;

  • The 4 runs up Springhut Creek, regarded by many as ‘the’ competitive section of the year
  • The lamb & gravy rolls at ‘Robbie’ Oval, run by the local community and always a great feed!
