Get along to Gillman Speedway this Saturday night for another exciting chapter in the history of this great venue, with the crowning of the SA Div 2 Sidecar Championship, as well as the Gillman Solo Championship.

With a warm night forecast, grab the family and get down there early to have a wander through the pits, and then head to a prime viewing area to see some of SA’s awesome junior talent on display from 6.00pm – and including 2021 SA Champion, Harry Sadler, along with fellow MSA Rising Star nominee, Ashley Jansen-Batchelor – and the next generation coming through like Kobi Channing and Riley Stout – you won’t regret getting there early to see these future stars!

Then head to the brilliant canteen for a feed before settling in for the main event(s) – and who to watch – well, here we go!

SA Div 2 Sidecar Champs; Previous results from this season means there could be up to 5 teams, and maybe more, who could come out on top – but whoever wins, it will mean that they will have had to have ridden a great meeting to do it – so look to Kym Menadue / Shane Dolan, Aaron Silvy / Jaron Silvy, Thomas Adams / Jaxon Rayner, Brian Silvy / Damian Egan and Mitchell Spear / Glen Zaworski to lead the way on the night. Going to be such a good night’s racing!

In the Gillman Solo Championship – you would think Internationals Liam May & Brayden McGuiness would lead the way, but with a heap of interstaters present, it should go down to a great final to end a close night’s racing!

And don’t forget also – Make Volunteering your 2022 Resolution – every Club will need a hand at some point during the year, so give just one day this year – cook a BBQ, serve in the canteen, help at sign on, pick up a flag point, help prep the track and the venue the day before – all it does at the end of the day, is benefit you and your kids!

2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS – THAT’S A WRAP!

December 20, 2021 Filed Under: News, Road Racing, SA Women in Motorcycling, State Championship

2021 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS – THAT’S A WRAP!

The 2021 SA Road Race season finale was held at The Bend East circuit November 27th and 28th. With very few riders ever seeing the track prior to the meeting, it promised to be something very exciting, and that’s exactly what it delivered.

The season was run over 4 separate rounds held at each of the state’s circuits, with an interclub round at Phillip Island unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19. But last weekend, all of the racers were glad to be back racing again for their last attempt to secure valuable series points to add to those from Mallala and Mac Park races earlier in the year.

With many newcomers showing great speed very early, some older racers developing their race craft throughout the year and representing the state in this year’s ASBK Championship and not to mention the introduction of the bLU cRU SA Junior Cup series, the 2022 season is shaping up to be one of our best ever!

Huge congratulations to the 2021 South Australian Road Race podiums, and thanks to all who rode and supported the 2021 Championship, and as has become the norm, COVID played its part that makes it hard for everyone to plan!

EAGLES TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS 2022 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 2022 EP SERIES VENUES RELEASED!

December 10, 2021 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SA Women in Motorcycling, SAMX Championship, State Championship

EAGLES TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS 2022 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 2022 EP SERIES VENUES RELEASED!

Motorcycling South Australia, along with the Motocross Sports Manager and the SA Motocross Panel are excited to announce the venues for the 2022 Eagles Trailers, Campers & Caravans 2022 South Australian Motocross Championships, which are also presented by AMX Superstores.

The 4 round Championship will start at Gillman at the end of April and finish at Andy Caldecott Park in Keith at the end of August, with round 2 to be held in the Riverland at Renmark, with round 3 heading, for the first time in many years, to Port Pirie, which is also home to the King of the Gulf meeting at Easter (for those who want to pre-ride the track!)

With the rounds now released, the program of events will follow early in 2022, but rest assured there will be some exciting changes coming to the formats, with the emphasis being put into giving ALL competitors great value for money, and an exciting series of Championship racing to decide who the 2022 South Australian Champions will be!

Yes, it is only a 4 round Championship – but – with June & early July swamped with major events like the Finke & Hattah Desert Races, it was almost impossible to schedule a round – but it does give our riders the chance to ride a National event and see how they go!

What can be teased here is this; multiple class entering will, not only be allowed, but will be encouraged across almost ALL classes – so just about every rider will be able to enter at least 2 classes in 2022 (where age and gradings allow) – and those who can’t will be racing for a bit longer in each race!

Has that whetted your appetite??

Well, wait until early 2022 to get ALL the info on an improving and evolving South Australian Championship in motocross!

Also attached here are the dates and venues for the 2022 EP Series – the 14th Eyre Peninsula Motocross Series – ‘Wild West’ Motocross at its Best!

Once again the EP Series will be a four round Series to decide the best in the west – with visits to Port Lincoln, Ceduna, Whyalla and Kimba – and with 3 of the rounds to be held BEFORE the opening round of the 2022 Eagles Trailers, Campers & Caravans 2022 South Australian Motocross Championships, presented by AMX Superstores, so there is ample chances to get some pre Championship racing in!

And with a planned possible return to the West in 2023 for a round of the SA Motocross Championships – this is an ideal chance to ride these tracks and get a feel for Eyre Peninsula dirt!

AMX SUPERSTORES 2022 SA TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS & TROY Series SA 2022 DATES & 2022 CLASS ADDITION RELEASED!

December 9, 2021 Filed Under: News, SA Women in Motorcycling, State Championship, Trials

AMX SUPERSTORES 2022 SA TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS & TROY Series SA 2022 DATES & 2022 CLASS ADDITION RELEASED!

2022 will see the Trials SA Community welcome a new class to both, the AMX Superstores 2022 South Australian Trial Championships and the TROY Series SA 2022, with the addition of a ‘TRIAL 6’ Class for senior riders (16+), which will run over the black line (same as Junior B) for those who are brand new to the sport and those who are just heading out for a fun days riding!

The idea behind adding this new class for Introductory and Novice riders, is that instead of being limited to riding the non-competitive Novice Class, they can now ride for reward and look to improve their skills. It also gives the most senior of riders the chance to have a fun ride while still testing the skills, but without the aching bones on Monday mornings!

In the AMX Superstores SA Trial Championships, riders will ride for a South Australian Championship, provided that entries reach the required minimum amount of entries, which will be listed in the supplementary regulations when released, and in TROY Series SA 2022, points will be scored in the Black & White Class – and go on points lost with Trial 5 and the Historic Classes.

September 10 & 11 will see The AMX Superstores 2022 SA Trial Championships run, with the likely venue to be at Eden Valley, and will be run by the Keyneton Motorcycle Club, and will once again feature great support from AMX Superstores, as well as SA’s major Trial dealer, Greg Knight’s Rockhopping SA.

TROY Series SA 2022 will be run over 5 rounds from April to August as the lead into the SA Championship event, and will feature rounds spread from Victor Harbor to Bangor in the Flinders Ranges, including a BRAND NEW venue at Mount Pleasant for round 2, and all rounds featuring Saturday night camping on site, and some a coaching and/or practise day on the Saturday! (Check to whole 2022 calendar for these Saturday dates!)
