TRIALSPORT & GLOBAL RACING OIL 2019 SA TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS; THIS WEEKEND IN THE SOUTHERN FLINDERS!

August 15, 2019 Filed Under: Enduro, Motocross, News, State Championship, Trials

TRIALSPORT & GLOBAL RACING OIL 2019 SA TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS; THIS WEEKEND IN THE SOUTHERN FLINDERS

With the Trialsport & Global Racing Oil 2019 SA Trial Championships now just under 24 hours away, The AJS MTC & Team Hogan have set 2 great loops of sections – and as is the Mungeree way, logs will be on the menu, along with creeks, hills and rocks – all the goodies needed for a brilliant event!

Mungeree is located at Bangor, right at the end of the Bridle Track, just off the Port Germain Road – ‘Mungeree’, 1173 Bridle Track, Bangor GPS – S32.940246, E138.133185 – and yes, it is well worth the drive!

Viewing will be prime for all spectators, with Saturday a relatively short loop around the homestead, and includes the creek (which may even be flowing) and around to the ‘Widow-maker’ part of Mungeree, while Sunday will head to the ‘Scrub’ paddock, which not only has awesome riding, but also has awesome views of the top of the gulf towards Port Augusta!

As always, Trials South Oz are offering a full range of classes, which means there will be riders from 6 years of age right through to 60+, with classes for modern and classic bikes, seniors & juniors and sidecars.

Team Australia members, Lillie Yiatrou (Aust #3) and Connor Hogan (Aust #2) will be in action, along with current and former Australian Champions, Alisha Harry, Hayden Eardley, Haydon Ahrens, Haydon Barwick and the sidecar team of Steve Rees & Melissa Rogers, as will all of Team SA who are gearing up for their assault on the Australian Championships in Tasmania later in the year!

Action kicks off at 10.00am Saturday and 9.00am Sunday, with the event fully catered by the amazing Tyler Hogan and helpers – country tucker at its very best – with free entry to the event for spectators & programmes so you know who is who.

There is also a raffle on over the weekend with some great prizes on offer, with all monies raised going to the Team Australia Trials des Nations fund for their trip to Ibiza in Spain in September – AND – on Saturday morning at Riders Briefing, the 2019 Team SA State Teams to the Australian Championships will be named and presented!

ALSO ON THIS WEEKEND!

CRYSTAL BROOK’S ‘HUNTS FUEL’ RACE WEEKEND

(ALSO A ROUND OF THE SA VMX SERIES)

Crystal Brook MCC are hosting a round of the SA VMX Series this Sunday at their brilliant venue at Crystal Brook, which is also their ‘Hunts Fuel’ Race Weekend, complete with a Demo class for 7 years and under stars of the future!

Crystal Brook is one of the premier motocross tracks in SA, with prime viewing for spectators who get to relax on the lawns in front of the clubrooms as they look down across the track and see all of the action as it unfolds.

And like the SA Trial Championships, entry to the venue is free for spectators and their canteen will be open and fully stocked.

So, a weekend in the Southern Flinders awaits – Trials at Mungeree both days, or modern & vintage motocross at Crystal Brook on Sunday – or do both – chuck the swag in the car and head to Mungeree and enjoy a great day of trials action on Saturday, then cruise down to Crystal Brook on Sunday morning for a day’s MX action – weekend sorted!

AND STILL MORE ACTION TO WATCH THIS WEEKEND!

ROUND 2, SCOTT WARE MEMORIAL TRI-SERIES

Also on this weekend is round 2 of the Scott Ware Memorial Tri-Series, a 3 round series co-run by the Gawler, Keyneton & Clare MCCs, with round 2 being hosted by the Keyneton MCC at Eden Valley on Sunday.

Like the events above, entry for spectators is free, with the property being used a prime property for off road racing, with viewing also fantastic as you wander among the moss rocks & gum trees.

The Keyneton MCC have organised for catering to be provided by the Barossa Valley Machinery Preservation Society, with coffee supplied by Barossa Bean Bar.

Get around it if the Flinders isn’t your thing – 85 of SA’s finest off road riders, from 7 years of age and up will fire up and keep you on the edge of your ‘deckie’ all day!

AND ALSO ON SUNDAY;

Riverland JMC have round 2 of their 2019 Club Series on at their Renmark venue, with their canteen open all day.

Morgan MCC have round 6 of their 2019 Club Series on at their Morgan venue on Burra Road, again, with their canteen open all day.

Brayden McGuinness

July 27, Gdansk, Poland

Brayden McGuinness continues to impress in Europe with another podium finish. This time in the NICE Challenge, scoring 14/15 points in the heats and finishing 2nd in the final for the meeting.
Well done, Brayden.

July 23

Great night last night at Belle Vue racing for the Colts against the Isle of Wight. Quite an eventful evening including me winning a heat on a rim, my tyre spun off in the first bend! Some more great experience under my belt, and I think I’ve got my starts sorted out 👌. Massive meeting at Glasgow tonight against the Eastbourne Eagles, and a massive day of cleaning and working on bikes in preparation, see you all trackside!

Thank you very much to Brian Schofield for the awesome sponsorship, I really appreciate it!

July 27

It’s the big day! Leicester Vs Glasgow, this should be a great meeting! I’ve had some much needed sleep and I’m raring to go

Hard meeting at home for me against the Leicester Lions. I scored 0 but I worked as hard as I could, chasing down the best riders on the other team in my heats. Scunthorpe tomorrow, let’s hope for a few points! Thanks very much to Matthew for all the hard work in the pit. 🙂

Brian Anthony

July 27 & 28, Latvia

GP10 was good one Latvia really know how to put on a show. The whole facility is a total Paradise.

Race one we had a good start, I think about 7th but had a big moment on the table top in first lap, but was ok then later had a small crash which dropped us back a bit was super hard on the riders arms but finished 14th. Race 2 was a good hard race with the track getting rough and the heat was really difficult but we all had same conditions and 23 jumps per lap we managed to finish 11th giving us 12th overall for the day scoring another 17points and my highest finish in the world championships so far!

Thank you very much Christophe and Team Cuche, Lara, the kids and everyone else that helps from warm-ups and advise to just giving me encouragement and good luck wishes.

ROUND 3 OF THE 2019 SAMX CHAMPS – THE WINDY WEST WAS WORTH THE TRIP!

July 22, 2019 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SAMX Championship

The weekend just gone saw round 3 of the Eagle Trailers & Campers 2019 SA Motocross Championships held at the Ceduna track by the West Coast Motorcycle Club – one of our most remote clubs, any further west and you’d be in WA – and did they lay out the welcome mat for one & all!

So, what did everyone think? – well, here is just a few of the comments found on social media in the past 24 hours;

Although Saturday was just a bit windy, the racing on the track was hot all weekend, and the Saturday night dinner at the track was one that bought the discipline together as a community – and well done to all of the West Coast crew for a job well done – that roast dinner was worth the drive west on its own!

Results for round 3 can be found here; www.speedhive.mylaps.com/Events/1696173, with Championship points to be updated in the coming days!

There were many happy faces at racing’s end – as you can see from these awesome juniors below, so look out now for the final round – racing is going to be hot to watch!

Entries for round 4, the final round of the Eagle Campers & Trailers 2019 SA Motocross Championships, at the South Coast MXC venue at Minarto, will open on Tuesday, July 23rd – tomorrow!

And again – well done to all of the West Coast MCC members – certainly a job well done!

INTERNATIONAL SA RIDERS WRAP! (20/21 JULY)

July 22, 2019 Filed Under: Motocross, News, Road Racing, Trials

INTERNATIONAL SA RIDERS WRAP!

A quick look at how some of our International riders fared over the weekend, with some mixed results and many miles traveled! Well done to all for taking your sport to the next level and taking up the international challenge – never an easy thing to do when Australia is so far away from the majority of the action!

If any South Aussie riders are taking up the International challenge and want to let everyone know what you are up to – email your efforts to projects@motorcyclingsa.org.au and include, where, when, results & a pic or 2, and the MSA staff will be more than happy to shout your results from the roof top!

Levi Day

British Superstock Championship;

P7 in today’s race at Snetterton in Superstock 1000! Happy with that result, we kept chipping away all weekend and from where we were on Friday to today’s race was a big step forward.

Huge thanks to my team IN Competition Aprilia for giving me an awesome RSV4 to ride. And to my sponsor AJN Steelstock, was great to have 22 guests from AJN and their customers there today being a part of it all! And to all the people that make it possible to do this and support me.

Thruxton up next in two weeks!

Brian Anthony

British Sidecarcross Championships, passengering for Gary Moulds;

From Gary’s team; “So, this weekend the team are in Deanmoor Cumbria. After the enforced break in riding the last few weeks with Steve’s injury we welcome Brian Anthony into our team to ride the 3rd Round of the British Sidecarcross championship. It’s great that we have Brian on as the guy has so much enthusiasm for racing, it’s also great that Steve is here with us to help and support both Gary & Brian.

We’d like to thank Jesper Rasmussen and the Danish Federation for providing Brian with the necessary licence and start permission to take part this weekend.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings, no expectations other to enjoy ourselves and hopefully score a few points.

A great weekend was had, and after qualifying 3rd at Deanmoor, good racing and well deserved results Gary and Brian got 3 X 3rd places in only their first time out together hope this is the last of Gary’s problems for this year.”

Brian, Lara & kids are now back on the continent and heading to Latvia for their next event – traveling and living the dream indeed Team Anthony!

Connor Hogan (#218)

Trial2 World Championship, Auron France;

Tough day at the office for Connor, finishing 27th in the Trial2 class at round 7, the final round of the Championship in Auron France over the weekend.

It’s been a tough season for Connor, and after 5 straight weeks away from home, it’s a fair bet that he is looking forward to coming home tomorrow, but still a super effort from him in 2019, with just the Trials des Nations to end his International year and a target to get Team Australia back onto the International Class podium, like in 2017.

Lillie Yiatrou

Trial2 Women’s World Cup, Auron France;

Round 2 of the Trial2 Women’s World Cup was also a tough day at the office for our WTC rookie, Lillie, who finished 12th, just 1 point off 11th (her round 1 result), and after qualifying with a clean but the slowest time, it meant she led the whole field onto the course, also not something easy to do, being the first to ride each section.

Lillie now flies home and will prepare for the final round in Spain in September, which will be followed by her Trials des Nations debut straight after.

FIRE UP & HEAD WEST – ROUND 3 OF THE 2019 SAMX CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEKEND AT CEDUNA

July 19, 2019 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SAMX Championship, State Championship

FIRE UP & HEAD WEST – ROUND 3 OF THE 2019 SAMX CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEKEND AT CEDUNA

This weekend sees round 3 of the Eagle Trailers & Campers 2019 SA Motocross Championships head west to the West Coast MCC’s awesome venue at Ceduna.

Returning for the first time in a few years, the West Coast MCC have gone all out to make everyone’s stay the best it can be – free camping onsite and a great roast dinner on the Saturday night – get around it, it’s going to be a great weekend of close racing, and with this being the penultimate round of the Championship, every point is going to count!

Below is the final message coming out of the Club before this weekend, as well as the final rider’s instructions & entry list.

“Please find the final instructions and rider list (at 9am this morning) attached for Round 3 of the 2019 Eagle Campers & Trailers SA MX Championship at West Coast MCC.
A huge appreciation to everyone who has supported this event. We hope you have a truly amazing weekend.
Special mention to the Larwood Family, who having just arrived home from Italy on Wednesday, have unpacked and re-packed to travel here this weekend. That is dedication.
Safe travels everyone. Stop and enjoy the special things and amazing places that you will only find on the Eyre Peninsula.”
