SIDEWINDERS RELEASE THEIR 2019/20 CALENDAR OF EVENTS!

SIDEWINDERS RELEASE THEIR 2019/20 CALENDAR OF EVENTS!

The Sidewinders Under 16 Speedway Club have released their 2019 / 20 calendar of events for the upcoming season, and once again it looks to be an action packed summer of slides at their North Terrace, Wingfield venue.

As always, the crew at Sidewinders will be catering for riders of all ages, from 4 years to under 16 years, and boys – and most definitely girls – of all abilities.

So, if a summer of watching the kids go sideways while watching some ripper sunsets is your idea of a great Saturday (and one Friday) night out, then contact the Club, either through the Motorcycling SA website (on the Club Directory page), or through their social media outlets (Facebook) to get all the information.

With thanks to Joylene Lee Archer and the other photographers for their brilliant work!

THE KESSNER RACE TEAM – DEVELOPING SA’S RISING OFF ROAD STARS!

THE KESSNER RACE TEAM – DEVELOPING SA’S RISING OFF ROAD STARS!

With the final SAORC rounds coming up at the end of August, Kessner Race Team will finish off the season with its third Junior Rider invited under the team tent.

Seeing a hole in junior development for the Off road discipline, team owner, Roger Kessner and team manager, Scott Billing put together a program to help young junior riders and their families gain valuable experience by being part of the Kessner team for a weekend.

Two riders have already participated in the program, gaining an enormous amount of knowledge and bike advice plus support that will hopefully help them continue to chase their dreams and goals.

Clay Burnett blended in well at rounds 4 & 5, lapping up as much as he could and applying it so well that he won his class on Saturday and placed 2nd on the Sunday.

The program has been embraced by the whole team with the junior riders being taken under the wings of the senior lads as they bring them into the close nit family vibe which is a signature mark of the Kessner Team.

They are also given access to all products and equipment as well as having head suspension guru Grant Beale (Bike Tune) on hand all weekend. Grant takes a very hands on approach and is valuable in getting the best out of each rider’s bike relevant to the track conditions for that day. This has been a high point for the previous two riders as well as the mentoring and fun had along the way.

Of course, all of this could not be possible without the valued relationship the team has with its sponsors. The team are proud that the following parties have put their confidence in them, and have provided their ongoing support as sponsors throughout the year.

Rounds 4/5 of the SAORC completed at Keith! Massive congratulations to the Keith & Districts Motorcycle Club for putting on a great 2 days 😊
Saturday was a 2 hour cross country, unfortunately I got taken out at the start which left me very sore for the rest of the race but still managed to finish 16th in J4.
On Sunday we did 7 sprints the track was very challenging but had a good day getting 10th in J4. Massive thanks to everyone who helped out over the weekend and supported me ❤

One of the best weekends racing I’ve ever had, tracks where clapped and so rough, which made for some good racing and some sketchy moments.

Looks like I got a 3rd on Saturday and Sunday results are not official yet.
Huge thanks to my sponsors for the ongoing support and help, you guys are awesome

RND 4-5 of the SAORC done, massive thanks to Keith & Districts Motorcycle Club for giving us a great track both days.
On Saturday I went 2nd and 65th outright
On Sunday I went 1st and 49th outright

I am very happy with the way I rode, the 3hr cross country got me and I faded towards the end a fair bit. This still gives me the lead in the championship but its close
Massive thanks to everyone who helped me with my fuel stops and in the pits.
Big thanks to the amazing team of sponsors behind me who make it all possible.

Tough weekend at rounds 4&5 of the @saorchampionships in Keith. The cross country was hectic, had a good start but fatigued early, then put my head down and gained many positions back in the whooped out conditions. The sprints were rough as and was hard to not make mistakes, but got through it going 1-1 for experts both days and 6th and 4th Outright.
Hope for a speedy recovery @coopersheidow

Brayden McGuinness

July 27, Gdansk, Poland

July 23

Great night last night at Belle Vue racing for the Colts against the Isle of Wight. Quite an eventful evening including me winning a heat on a rim, my tyre spun off in the first bend! Some more great experience under my belt, and I think I’ve got my starts sorted out 👌. Massive meeting at Glasgow tonight against the Eastbourne Eagles, and a massive day of cleaning and working on bikes in preparation, see you all trackside!

Thank you very much to Brian Schofield for the awesome sponsorship, I really appreciate it!

July 27

It’s the big day! Leicester Vs Glasgow, this should be a great meeting! I’ve had some much needed sleep and I’m raring to go

Hard meeting at home for me against the Leicester Lions. I scored 0 but I worked as hard as I could, chasing down the best riders on the other team in my heats. Scunthorpe tomorrow, let’s hope for a few points! Thanks very much to Matthew for all the hard work in the pit. 🙂

July 27 & 28, Latvia

GP10 was good one Latvia really know how to put on a show. The whole facility is a total Paradise.

Race one we had a good start, I think about 7th but had a big moment on the table top in first lap, but was ok then later had a small crash which dropped us back a bit was super hard on the riders arms but finished 14th. Race 2 was a good hard race with the track getting rough and the heat was really difficult but we all had same conditions and 23 jumps per lap we managed to finish 11th giving us 12th overall for the day scoring another 17points and my highest finish in the world championships so far!

Thank you very much Christophe and Team Cuche, Lara, the kids and everyone else that helps from warm-ups and advise to just giving me encouragement and good luck wishes.
