ROUND 2 – 2021 SART CHAMPIONSHIP & SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP HEADLINE A HUGE WEEKEND!

May 21, 2021 Filed Under: Motocross, News, Reliability, SA Women in Motorcycling, SAMX Championship, State Championship

ROUND 2 – 2021 SART CHAMPIONSHIP & SA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP HEADLINE A HUGE WEEKEND!

Saturday – Sedan – The Mike Connors Reliability Trial – the 61st running of the Keyneton MCC’s longest running annual event heads to Sedan this Saturday for round 2 of the South Australian Reliability Trials Championships, with the first bike due to head out on a 6 hour journey at 9.01am.

What will, at this stage, be a dry journey for the 130+ starters, sees a 2 lap journey of 3 hours each, with the first section, just around the corner from Main Control, being an awesome spectator area, at a local’s personal motocross track. So, come to Main Control in the morning, grab breakfast from the local community catering crew, then a program and directions to the spectator area and head out to watch some awesome action!

20+ sidecars will lead the field the away, followed by the Expert solos, old bikes, ladies and then the Clubman and aged classes – with lap 2 staring at 12.01pm for a 3.00pm finish for bike 1.

As mentioned above, the local Sedan Community Group will be catering the event all day, so please get around them and support their efforts, and especially as some are also our fabulous land owners, without whom those events couldn’t run!

The Keyneton MCC would like to thank all who are making this event happen – especially all of the control keepers who will be sitting out in the dust – and a big shout out to BAROSSA MOTORCYCLES in Nuriootpa for their continued support of the Club.

The SART Committee would like to thank MOBILITY SA, CBS BINS, ECO WASTE SOLUTIONS, BAROSSA 4X4 & OUTDOORS and PETER HENNEKAM’S SKETCHOGRAF for their great support of this SA Championship Series.

Action from the Sedan MX track from 2 years ago – and the winners of the 60th Keyneton MCC ‘Annual Road Trial’ from 2020 – Rowan Pumpa (outright & Mike Connors Trophy) and Max & Sam Hutchesson (sidecar & Weckert/Hollamby Trophy)

2021 EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSIPS, presented by AMX SUPERSTORE – ROUND 2 THIS WEEKEND IN THE RIVERLAND

Saturday & Sunday – Renmark – SA Motocross Championships round 2 – the 2nd round of the 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships will kick off early tomorrow morning at Renmark, as the action hots up across all classes of the Championship, led by SA’s amazing future Champions with the junior Classes heading day 1!

Entry for spectators this weekend is a gold coin donation – with all proceeds going to charity – and there will be hot and cold catering all weekend at the Riverland JMC Canteen, with plenty of prime viewing areas at the venue as well.

Camping at the track is also welcome, so head to Sedan, watch the SART action until early arvo, then head to Renmark, catch the last of the junior races,  have a feed, roll out the swag, and then wake to some awesome action on Sunday morning, after an egg & bacon sanga of course!

With the juniors heading day 1 – with kids aged from 4 to 16, boys and girls, in action – day 2 will headline the senior competitions, again make and female riders, as well as the oldest juniors (15+) in the Junior Lites class – so both days will feature awesome racing and something for everyone to watch!

All this action from round 1 at Gillman – will be on show this weekend at Renmark as riders start to put their Championship run together, with a huge thanks to fullnoise.com.au for the brilliant pics!

EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS showed their ongoing commitment to the series, securing the Series Naming Rights sponsorship in a lucrative 2 year deal with AMX SUPERSTORE signing on for the 2021 and 2022 seasons as well. AMX STORE support is totalling $14K including round by round helmet and tyre giveaways, participation prizes, track side sales and much more.

BUTLERS MECHANICAL SERVICES continue to raise the bar and their increased pledge into the series in 2021 secured the Naming rights for the Woman’s Class with TITANIUM SECURITY AUSTRALIA supporting the Junior Girls Classes.

SART ROUND 1 HEADLINES ANOTHER BIG WEEKEND OF ACTION!

April 30, 2021 Filed Under: Coaches, Motocross, News, Reliability, SA Women in Motorcycling, SAMX Championship, Trials

SART ROUND 1 HEADLINES ANOTHER BIG WEEKEND OF ACTION!

This weekend, tomorrow in fact, sees the 7 round South Australian Reliability Trials Championship kick into gear with the traditional ‘season opener’, the Gawler MCC’s Philip Haydon Reliability Trial, taking place out from the Marrabel Rodeo Grounds, with the first bike due to leave at 1.01pm, for a 2 lap, 6 hour-ish journey around the region, and with the final timed section to take place at the Rodeo Grounds, there will be action a-plenty without having to leave Main Control!

Round 1 sees 135 entries received, which coming out of the COVID year of 2020 is a great recovery, with the 22 sidecar entries leading the field away. And it’s a high quality field as well for the Series opener, led by Adam Wright, Damien Jenke and the evergreen, Rowan Pumpa in the outright solo battle to join the Philip Haydon honour roll!

The sidecars are also high quality, with multiple 24 Hour Trial winners, Max & Sam Hutchesson, Mark Launer & Tyson Rohrlach, Shane ‘Crash’ Schiller (with Adrian Rohrlach) and Hector Evans (with Shaun Buckley) leading the way!

The event is being fully catered by an amazing team led by Janet Hazel, who is doing it as an awesome fundraiser for the Kapunda High School Foundation, which helps disadvantaged students, so get behind it and grab some great food for a great cause!

Live timing will also be available at this event, head to www.sartchampionship.com, and also grab an event program at Main Control to get the riders list and directions to the spectator areas!

And here is the official welcome from Aaron Seifert, the president of the Gawler Motorcycle Club;

On behalf of the Gawler Motorcycle Club, I would like to welcome everyone to the 43rd running of the Phillip Haydon Reliability trial. After 42 consecutive years of our trial, last year’s event had to be cancelled due to some crazy virus getting in the way. We have picked up from last year’s event by running out of the Marrabel Rodeo Grounds.

We are now living in a new normal so please log into our QR codes, observe COVID safe practice where possible and follow our spectator guidelines.

The SA Reliability Trials Championship series would not be possible without generous landowners allowing us the ride their paddocks. We would like to thank Peter Dorrington, Greg Hampel, Nathen Rowett, Colin Menadue, Brendon Teague, Mark, Tim and Tony Prior, Ian Williams, Harvey and Sheryl Murray, Jim McInerney, James Huppatz, Peter Shulz and Mark Newmaan, who are our generous landowners. Also, thanks to Nathen Rowett and Luke Shulz for their involvement in the stage at the rodeo grounds which will be a high light for the spectators come the final stage at night.

A special thank you to Janet Hazel and her crew in the canteen, 100% of the takings are going to the Kapunda High School Foundation helping disadvantaged students. We have three spectator viewing areas this year, two of which are out on course and the final is at the rodeo grounds. We ask that everybody respects the wishes of the landowners by only leaving footprints and take all rubbish with you. Please use gates as entry to the properties and DO NOT RETURN TO RIDE.

Our event would not be possible without our huge team of volunteers. So as a rider if you see someone working hard to make things happen for the event go up and thank them, it might just bring you some good luck. A HUGE THANK YOU goes to all involved in making this event a possibility.

The Clare & Gilbert Valley have generously allowed us to run an event with the use of their dirt roads so please respect all road rules and speed signs. We need to thank First Care for keeping us safe and ACRM for their ongoing support with event communications.

Have a safe and enjoyable ride and here is hoping you can make it to the finish line. After the event stay around and enjoy the warmth of the fire whilst enjoying our fine food and refreshments.

Cheers, Anton Seifert

THE SAMX SERIES SET TO LAUNCH, WITH AN UNPRECEDENTED LEVEL OF SUPPORT, WITH OVER $30,000 INVESTED INTO THE SERIES.

EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS showed their ongoing commitment to the series, securing the Series Naming Rights sponsorship in a lucrative 2 year deal which will see the business investing over $16K in this period – well surpassing their previous support of the series after a long negotiation.

And, the MSA and SAMX Teams are excited to announce a second major partnership for the 2021 Eagles Trailers, Campers and Caravans series, welcoming AMX Superstores as the Presented By partner, with AMX one of Australia’s largest motorcycle accessory retailers. A focus going forward is to continue to establish and build on the strong alignment between our sponsors and the sport, and BUTLERS MECHANICAL SERVICES and TITANIUM SECURITY AUSTRALIA are undoubtedly the greatest example of this.

KESSNERS MOTORCYCLES and COAST POWERSPORTS continue their long association with motorsport in general and continue to provide the industry over 70 years of experience between the two outlets north and south of Adelaide.

“This is an incredible result and testament to the commitment of our Sponsoring Partners going forward. The heavy financial investment and  2 year commitment from EAGLE TRAILERS, CAMPERS & CARAVANS and AMX Stores in particularly provides the series genuine stability and the extraordinary investment has generated some serious momentum into the 2021 season ”

SA MOTOCROSS WELCOME BACK BUTLER’S & TITANIUM FOR SEASON 2021!

March 5, 2021 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SA Women in Motorcycling, SAMX Championship, State Championship

SA MOTOCROSS WELCOME BACK BUTLER’S & TITANIUM FOR SEASON 2021!

SA Motocross is excited to welcome back Butler’s Mechanical Service and Titanium Security Australia as sponsors for the girls and women’s classes for the 2021 South Australian Motocross Championships.

In huge news for the SA Motocross Championships, Butler’s Mechanical Services and Titanium Security Australia are continuing their fantastic support of girls and women’s motocross in South Australia into the 2021 season.

With the excellent, and record, number of girls and women who fronted the starter for the shortened and COVID affected 2020 season, it is thought that numbers will once again increase in a full racing year that 2021 is hoped to be, meaning a new record will be set in 2021.

The Senior Women’s Class could be one of the highlights of the year, with reigning Champion Steph Cutler looking to keep the teenage brigade at bay, led by Aimee Butler and Chloe Barton, with the likes of Charlotte Berrill and Tarja Morris also in the mix!

The hot rumour for 2021 is that former Champion and Australian top 10, Amy Bartsch, will be returning after a long injury layoff, to add another challenger to Steph’s crown.

The juniors will once again be led by 2020 double Champion, Emma Haylock, who all the others will be chasing, with the ever improving field keen to close the gap to Emma as the season unfolds!

SA Motocross Sports Manager, Clint Gow-Smith, is excited by the news, stating, ““The ongoing support of these classes from Titanium Security and Butler Mechanical continues to set the industry standard and really must be commended for their long term commitment and strong alignment with their businesses and promoting woman in MX. “

I am pumped to see these young guns of Barton, Butler and Co. continue to improve and execute the race craft and experience gained from years of being mentored by the “veterans” of this class, Cutler and Bartsch. How long can the old guard keep these young chargers off the top step??, so pumped to watch this !!

In the Juniors we need to continue to work our back sides off to support the active riders we have and really look to continue to draw young females to participate and get involved in motocross ”

The 2021 South Australian Motocross Championship will be run over the following rounds;

Round 1 – April 24 & 25 – MRA – Gillman

Round 2 – May 22 & 23 – Riverland – Renmark

Round 3 – June 19 & 20 – West Coast – Ceduna

Round 4 – July 17 & 18 – Keith & Districts – Keith

Round 5 – August 28 & 29 – South Coast – Monarto

The Girls & Women’s Classes for the 2021 Championship are;

Senior;  Open Women

Junior;  85cc 12-U16yrs Girl’s

125cc/250cc 13-U16yrs Girl’s

*For 2021; to be recognised as an official South Australian Championship, the minimum entry will be 6 entries per female class (or 80% of the National requirement), and riders will need to start 3 rounds of the championship to be eligible for series awards.

(So, in a nutshell, 6 girls or women need to start 3 rounds of the championship – and participate in practise, qualifying or the races – for the championship to become official)

STAY TUNED; Entries for round 1 at Gillman to open very soon!
