EOI’s FOR SPORTS MANAGER POSITIONS NOW OPEN

September 6, 2019 Filed Under: All disciplines, News

Motorcycling SA is seeking nominations for the following Sports Manager’s positions;

  • Trial
  • Enduro
  • Dirt Track
  • Motocross
  • and the newly created position of ‘Classic Motocross & Classic Dirt Track’.

Sports Managers are Board appointed individuals who are chartered with the responsibility to assist the growth, development and operation of each discipline. In general they are assisted by a committee or advisory group.

The MSA Board is excited to announce the forming of the position of Classic Motocross & Classic Dirt Track Sports Manager, which has been formed due to such large numbers in, predominately motocross, meaning that it is too much for one Sports Manager and his/her team to properly look after the needs of both. The position is named as per Chapter 11 of the MoMS.

The term of contract for all Sports Managers will be 2 years.

The positions of Road Race, Reliability Trial, Speedway and Quads will be up for renewal in 12 months’ time.

The Sports Manager’s Guidelines and nomination form are attached.

Nominations will close on at 5.00pm Friday, October 5th 2019.

The next Sports Managers meeting will be at 7.00pm, Thursday, 5th of December at MSA Hall, where the above appointments will be made official for 2020/21.

ROUND 3 OF TROY Series SA 2019 – THIS SUNDAY @ MOCULTA

August 23, 2019 Filed Under: News, Trials

Round 3 of the TROY Series SA 2019 for Trial will be held this Sunday along the pipeline at Moculta, north east of Angaston and the Barossa Valley, run by the Keyneton MCC, with action kicking off around 9.30am.

With a number of riders absent this weekend due to riding the New South Wales Championships at Pacific Park, the spotlight will well and truly be on SA’s amazing junior talent – including some who have just been selected to represent SA at the 2019 Australian trial Championships in Tasmania.

This is the 46th running of the Keyneton MCC’s Mountain Man Trial, named so by Bob Petts after thinking Geoff ‘Wack’ Barratt was a ‘mountain of a man’, with this the KMCC’s 2nd longest running event after the Mike Connors Reliability Trial.

Spectators are free to wander among the sections as riders try and do the impossible in this unique discipline where speed is not a factor – and the ideal spot for new junior riders to learn bike control!

As always – Greg Knight from Rockhopping SA will be on hand with a number of bikes for sale!

MOTOCROSS; SA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE THIS WEEKEND @ MONARTO!

August 23, 2019 Filed Under: Motocross, News, SAMX Championship, State Championship

MOTOCROSS; SA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE THIS WEEKEND @ MONARTO!

The South Coast Motocross club will be the hosting the 4th and final round of the Eagle Trailers & Campers SA State Championships this weekend at their brilliant venue at Monarto. This event has attracted 208 competitors entered, the largest entry list for the year.

This event has attracted riders from as far and wide as Ceduna to Mount Gambier, with interstate riders from Victoria, and international competitors from Indonesia. With rider abilities spread from little demo’s starting at 4yrs to the MX Nationals Pros and the 35+ Veterans.

On Saturday, the juniors will take to the track, with many classes still up for grabs, and with a team SA berth for the Australian Junior Championships also on the line for the podium finishers – look out – the junior action will be ‘as hot as’!

Entry for spectators on the Saturday is by gold coin – so why wouldn’t you get down to Monarto to watch the future of the sport here in SA – and bring sunglasses, it is pretty bright!

The South Coast Committee have gone all out to make everyone’s stay enjoyable and to ensure that the track has a family friendly environment. With the committee putting a bonfire and dinner on Saturday night, of Baked Potatoes with your choice of toppings and a can of drink for $10.

Sunday will see the seniors take the track, as well as the oldest juniors, for their final chance to grab some Championship glory! Most classes are still up for grabs and the action will be as hot as the juniors, the MX1 & 2 Classes jumping that bit higher and longer to put on a great spectacle for all watching!

Entry on Sunday is $5.00 per head or just $10.00 for a car full, so grab your mates and head down – full canteen and bar facilities all weekend!

With the help of Wayne McMillan and the very generous machinery donation from Loadex Hire SA, the South Coast Committee have been able to complete some track modifications and there are definitely some surprises in store for those who have entered.

Below is the final message (in part) from the Club before the weekend.

With our club holding a successful double header for the 2019 MX Nationals, our committee is excited to welcome back the South Australian MX Championship for the 5th consecutive year.

A huge thank you to every committee member and their children, volunteers and sponsors who are the reason for why we are able to hold this prestige event in South Australia.

We hope you enjoy the event and don’t forget to let us know if you would like to place an order for the Saturday night’s Baked Potato

South Coast Motocross Club Committee!
